Who would believe that spending a day in a wheelchair – as a participant in the annual LITTLE EDEN CEO Wheelchair Campaign™ – could change your life?
Those who’ve done it before!
Influential business representatives from corporates such as Discovery Limited, Multotec, Mixtelematics and Mandate Molefi, who took the challenge last March (Intellectual Disability Awareness month), described it as ‘humbling’, ‘insightful’, ‘profound’, ‘inspiring’ and ‘life-changing’. “LITTLE EDEN residents inspire me every day, they teach us that life goes on” said campaign ambassador and South African Para Olympic rower, Ms Sandra Khumalo.
Listen to this message from Discovery Limited CEO, Adrian Gore …
You’ll find it puts the daily anxieties and frustrations of life into perspective. Because there’s nothing quite like being able to get up and walk away from a wheelchair at the end of the day, to remind you how very fortunate you are!
Especially when you know that this is not an option for most of the 300 special ‘angels’ at LITTLE EDEN. Children like Bright – who has profound intellectual and physical disability – spend all day, every day in a wheelchair. Most lack the strength or ability to propel themselves. They are dependent on others for mobility, and everything else.
As you can imagine, the cost of providing 24-hour care for these special children and adults is enormous. That’s why we ask for an exceptional donation – R50 000 – to cover your participation in the 3rd Annual LITTLE EDEN CEO Wheelchair Campaign™. Smaller companies and influential individuals may participate with a donation of R30 000. We also ask you to share your wheelchair experience to help create awareness of the daily challenges that people with disabilities face.
Are you up for the challenge?
Your company will gain valuable tax and BBBEE benefits. Plus, you’ll contribute to improving the lives of the most vulnerable members of society – children and adults with profound intellectual disability.
Please contact Zai Miller on zm@littleeden.org.za or register online. Then choose any work day during March 2020 to spend your day in a wheelchair and experience this life changing experience for yourself.
