The new tractor was immediately put to work, planting hundreds of new pecan nut saplings last year. Although it takes years for the trees to mature, thanks to the recent good rains, they are growing beautifully.

Sales of pecan nuts generate valuable income for our Homes. Helping to pack and label the nuts also provides useful occupation for residents of Elvira Rota Village, and boosts their feelings of self-worth. By expanding the orchards, we hope to become more self-sustainable in the future.
