With support from the Department of Basic Education, one of our special angels Mandy*, was identified as a child who would benefit from attending a special school.
It’s taken three years to finalise the process – but on 10 August, Mandy set off proudly for her first day of school. Waiting for the school bus to arrive, she could barely contain her excitement!
In the first few weeks since she started, Mandy has already learned to write her own name – which she does with great pride and confidence – and made a new friend.
At Con Amore, she will learn basic skills such as setting the table, making sandwiches and personal care, as well as having the opportunity to participate in sports and socialise with others of a similar age and ability.
We look forward to seeing Mandy develop further and reach her full potential.
