We now have five dogs, two of which (Donut and Peanut) are looked after solely by the residents of Butterfly wing. Other therapeutic interactions with animals include horse-riding, and caring for the caged birds.
The bird enclosures have been moved closer to the buildings, so that residents can hear the birdsong even while they are inside.
Plans are underway to extend the wetland area to incorporate the two ‘forests’, and hopefully attract a greater diversity of species at Elvira Rota Village. Our bird list has increased from 137 last year to 148 now, with sightings of 11 new species.
