How strange it feels to think that this is the last time I will write to you as CEO of LITTLE EDEN. As you may know, in July I made the extremely difficult decision to resign, owing to medical reasons. But it’s a huge wrench to leave this wonderful Organisation, the dedicated staff and the residents I’ve served over the years.
As I look back, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to lead this Organisation. It has been an incredible journey, marked by personal growth and dedication to our mission of compassionate care for children and adults living with intellectual disability.
During the years of my tenure, we faced numerous challenges, including ensuring the safety of our residents during the Covid-19 pandemic, dealing with load shedding, and having to operate under severe financial pressure – which is typical of most NGOs in the under-funded non-profit sector.
Throughout my time as CEO of LITTLE EDEN I have been humbled and encouraged by the generous support of our loyal donors. You never hesitate to respond to our appeals for financial assistance – and I thank you from the bottom of my heart and ask that your generosity continues into the future of LITTLE EDEN.
As LITTLE EDEN will always remain a part of my life, I look forward to meeting you again at the various functions and events.
