Our new tractor has arrived at Elivira Village, and we are so excited! A beautiful shiny red, the tractor will be used for numerous farming activities. Most importantly, it will be a big help with the new pecan nut expansion project, which is intended to help LITTLE EDEN achieve self sustainability in the future.
This simply wasn’t possible with our old tractor. Over 40 years old, it broke down constantly – repairs were leaving a big hole in our budget. In desperation, we asked one of our special long term donors, Trent Odgers, for help. Instead of a financial donation, Mr Odgers generously offered his 1962 Studebaker to be raffled to raise the necessary funds. Proceeds from the raffle covered just over half the cost of the new tractor. The balance came from a donation towards the pecan nut expansion project.
We extend our grateful thanks to everyone who supported the raffle. We also appreciate all partners who came on board to help promote the competition. Without financial contributions from caring individuals and businesses, LITTLE EDEN simply couldn’t provide the level of care necessary for our ‘family’ of 300 children and adults.
We really appreciate cash donations, as they allow us the flexibility to respond to needs as they arise. But there are many other ways to support LITTLE EDEN – without having to dig into your pocket! These include donating items from our needs list, supporting our Charity Shop, ‘adopting’ an angel, leaving a bequest and more.
