Every year, it gets bigger and better, and 2023 was no exception.
Our LITTLE EDEN Society CEO Wheelchair Campaign® challenges company leaders to spend one work day in a wheelchair during March (National Intellectual Disability Awareness Month) and share their experience on social media.
This year, we were thrilled to have six CEOs participating, as well as many others who supported the campaign with financial pledges. Grateful thanks to all who joined in.
Among the companies that participated this year were Discovery Limited, MEI Construction Services, EOH Group, Multotec, SBS, SA Federation for Mental Health, Sun International and U Can Store.
“It’s a bit of a cliché,” said Multotec CEO, Rhodes Nelson, “But until you’ve been in somebody else’s shoes, you can’t appreciate their struggles. It’s only through this firsthand perspective that we can truly grasp the challenges that wheelchair users face.”
“It is an honour to support LITTLE EDEN each year as they raise awareness and support for the remarkable work they do,” said Adrian Gore, Global Group Chief Executive Discovery Limited.
If you are interested in experiencing this challenge for yourself, why not join in our LITTLE EDEN CEO Wheelchair Campaign® next year? Contact Nadine Mason by emailing nm@littleeden.org.za.
